Inside, there are over 15,000 objects on display, such as the world-famous Apollo 10 command capsule and Stephenson’s Rocket – one of the earliest steam locomotives, built in 1829 and capable of reaching a top speed of 28mph, which was fast in those days! Elsewhere in the museum’s seven floors, you can step inside a Red Arrows or space simulator, get hands on with interactive exhibits, watch a film in 3D IMAX and learn about space, energy, medicine, engineering and more. Around a 45-minute drive from Bergerac airport, Parc en Ciel has everything you’ll need for a good day out - and more! There’s a tree adventure park, a large natural pool, mini golf course and plenty of green space for picnics. It’s found within 16 acres of woodland in the lovely Gavaudun valley, with the River Lede running through it. The tree-top adventure park offers six different courses to choose from (suitable for age three and up), each varying in difficulty from a leisurely circuit to something more adrenaline-charged, and at the end of each, you’ll slide down the zip-wire back to solid ground.
