Flybe celebrates 40 years of serving business travellers

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has this year again received several prestigious accolades giving it prominent recognition over other UK airlines for its on-time performance. The carrier, that celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, provides, time saving, flexible business travel with high frequency schedules offering numerous opportunities for seamless global connections through its codeshare partners, and with the added benefits of its ‘Get More’ ticket option.
Leading On-Time Performance
Flybe has once again been recognised as outperforming many major UK players for its On Time Performance (OTP). In what is widely regarded as one of the industry’s most comprehensive on-time analyses based on ‘the most stringent and consistent criteria’, Flybe was the only UK-based airline to feature in the three Top 10 lists published by FlightGlobal (3rd January 2019), placing eighth in the Major Airline table with a 77% on time performance record during 2018. The overall results were determined following analysis of more than 120,000 operated flights a day drawn from over 600 global sources.
Flybe operates over 450 flights a day; and one out of every two passengers travelling intra-regionally on a UK domestic air route outside of London is a Flybe customer, so such official and independent recognition for our punctuality record is great testament. Establishing a good record for departing and arriving within the accepted 15-minute window is naturally one of the main considerations for business travellers when deciding to which airline to take their business.
This latest report reinforces other high-profile OTP recognition received by Flybe in recent years including being named the most punctual UK-based airline in the Which? report on the ‘Best and Worst Airlines’ published in January 2018; and sharing the top spot for OTP in the Short Haul Category in their 2019 report.
Flybe expands presence at London Heathrow
As part of its 2019 Summer schedule, Flybe is expanding operations at London Heathrow with the start of a brand new, four times daily service from Cornwall Airport Newquay that, starting on 31st March, joins the airline’s two already established multi-frequency services from both Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
This new route to Heathrow, the world’s second busiest airport for international travel, will help businesses in Cornwall to compete nationally and internationally, attracting inward investment and boosting tourism.

Understanding and responding to the needs of its business travellers is apparent by the airline’s commitment to offering the very best fares, placing particular emphasis on its enhanced ‘Get More’ ticket option.
The ‘Get More’ ticket takes into account today’s busy world and recognises that even the best laid plans are subject to change. So no matter if a meeting finishes early or runs over. ‘Get More’ passengers have the opportunity to change their flight free of charge, with no fare difference being charged, if re-booked for the original day of travel, offering that greater flexibility when wanting to travel earlier, or later. In addition to on-the-day flexibility, ‘Get More’ tickets also offer an extra baggage allowance; advance standard seat selection and SMS booking confirmation.
