Leading regional airline releases all winter seats for sale through to end March on 114 winter routes including five that are brand new with total choice of up to 3,000 flights a week

11th May 2016

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has today (12th May 2016) released the final phase of its expanded 2016-17 Winter programme, featuring a choice of up to 3,000 flights a week on 114 routes including five which are brand new.  Booking is now available for travel all the way through to 25th March 2017 at with one way fares from £24.99 including taxes and charges.

Featured in the schedule are five brand new routes - from Cardiff to Berlin Tegel; Doncaster Sheffield to Chambery and Dusseldorf; Newquay to Leeds Bradford and Norwich to Chambery. Twenty four other routes introduced onto Flybe’s network this summer are also being carried through and will operate for the first time this winter.

To better serve its business passengers, the schedule includes improved connectivity between the UK regions, meaning that with a choice of convenient flight times, customers can travel the length and breadth of the country faster than by road or rail.  Those in Aberdeen, for example, can choose from seven flights per day to Manchester, while Scottish travellers can choose from up to seven flights a day to London City.

The popularity of Flybe’s successful Manchester and Birmingham hubs continues to rise, with passengers taking advantage of the opportunity to by-pass congested London airports to make more seamless onward connections. Using the airline’s convenient ‘One Stop to the World’ proposition, they can travel either onward with other Flybe regional services or farther afield to an extensive selection of long haul destinations through its various codeshare partners when booked via a travel agent.

Last month Flybe announced a codeshare agreement with Star Alliance member, Air India. This is its tenth codeshare agreement. The deal enables customers using Flybe’s multi-frequency services to Birmingham from Belfast City, Edinburgh and Glasgow to book seamless flights onward to Delhi. The announcement followed a similar deal with Virgin Atlantic, with passengers now able to travel from their own local regional airport to such sought-after destinations as Barbados, Orlando, Havana and Las Vegas via Flybe’s flights to and from Glasgow, Manchester and London Gatwick airports.

Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Officer, comments: “The diversity of our winter schedule is ideal for those not only  wanting to book affordable business travel but also winter sun and short leisure breaks, especially over the autumn half-term and Christmas/New Year period.  Flybe offers our customers affordable, convenient, high frequency air travel; ‘Faster than road or rail!”
