FLYBE CHAMPIONS REGIONAL PRODUCTS WITH BRAND NEW CAFÉ FLYBE
Europe’s leading regional airline re-designs on-board menu offering more choice than any other European airline with regional products highlighted each month
9th May 2016
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, now has the largest selection of on-board refreshments than any other European airline with over 100 products available for passengers to enjoy. The re-designed on-board menu has been renamed Café Flybe, providing passengers with double the choice of refreshments than before. Importantly, as champion of the regions in which it operates, Café Flybe will also include a trio of new regional products each month.
The airline is based in Exeter, so the South West is appropriately the focus of its first monthly offering with Portlebay popcorn from Devon, the Sandwich of the Month - Roast Silverside of Beef with Devon Blue Cheese, and Tribute ale from Cornwall being profiled on all Flybe flights throughout May.
Portlebay is based at The Poppery in Langage near Plymouth and the company has gone from strength to strength since its 2013 launch with popcorn that is given a healthier edge by air-popping the kernels instead of using oil: while the St Austell Brewery has been family-owned and brewing its world-renowned beer products since 1851.
Café Flybe truly has something for everyone. Early morning business travellers can choose from a selection of fresh pastries and an expanded offering of hot drinks including ten different kinds of tea from Twining’s and coffee from Kenco. There are sandwiches freshly made every day with a new filling in the Sandwich of the Month to keep frequent fliers’ appetites from becoming bored. And for those looking for something a little different, the menu includes lots of additional choice from a Ploughman’s Lunch complete with traditional pork pie to authentic Spanish tapas. Complementing the new arrivals is a wide array of soft drinks, wines and premium spirits, snacks, cakes and confectionary.
Amy Valcik, Flybe’s Chief Marketing Officer comments: “Flybe has made its reputation by providing greater choices for our passengers and our new on-board menu reflects that, providing a product range unmatched by our competitors. Café Flybe not only provides more recognisable brands, more choice and better quality to our passengers travelling on our flights but we are thrilled to also put the spotlight on regional products in support of local economies.
“And we are not finished yet! Cafe Flybe is going to evolve to fully reflect what our passengers want – and we have some really exciting products up our sleeves to announce shortly.”
