FLYBE’S NEW WINTER SCHEDULE FROM EXETER TAKES OFF

Leading regional airline’s new Winter programme features return of direct Glasgow flights and convenient re-timing of London City service

23th October 2015

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, starts operating its 2015-2016 winter schedule this weekend (Sunday 25th October, 2016) that features 13 routes with a choice of up to 190 flights a week. It includes the return of direct flights from Exeter to Glasgow four days a week, and the convenient re-timing of the return early evening service from London City.

Other highlights of Flybe’s winter schedule from Exeter includes the return of popular ski routes to Chambery and Geneva and the extension of its 2015 summer sun routes to Alicante and Malaga through to 1st November to accommodate half term travel. In addition, Flybe will continue to offer up to three flights a day to its Manchester hub. . From here, customers are increasingly taking advantage of the opportunity to by-pass congested London airports to make more convenient, seamless onward connections to the rest of the Flybe network and also to the rest of the world via Flybe’s codeshare partners.

Flybe’s partnership with Skyscanner has served to strengthen its ‘One Stop to the World’ offering. Customers can now make long haul bookings instantly with airline partners via a direct link from Flybe’s website www.flybe.com. This powerful bespoke search tool calculates all options available for flying to selected long haul destinations from many of the key regional airports served by Flybe, detailing all possible itineraries, timings and convenient connections.

Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, comments: “As part of our commitment to offering our Exeter customers a wider range of flights from their local airport, we are pleased to bring back direct flights to Glasgow. The diversity and added frequency to our winter programme demonstrates that Flybe can provide unrivalled regional connections.”

Exeter Airport’s Managing Director, Matt Roach, said: “Although we have continued to have connectivity to Glasgow via Flybe’s Manchester hub, the return of this direct route is very welcome. Our passengers will enjoy a reduced travel time and this will further enhance the links between the South West and Scotland, which is good for both business and tourism.”

Winter seats are available for booking through to 26th March 2016 with one way fares from £24.99 including taxes and charges.
