Flybe Adds Another Brand New Route From Aberdeen

23rd July 2014

Leading regional airline will operate daily flights to East Midlands

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has confirmed its commitment to further growth with the addition today (22nd July 2014) of a brand new route between Aberdeen and East Midlands, offering daily weekday flights from 26th October 2014 through to 28th March 2015.   One way fares are on sale now from £34.99 including taxes and charges.

This, along with the airline’s recent news that it will also be operating a daily FlyShuttle service from October between  Aberdeen and Jersey airports, with stop offs at Leeds Bradford and Southampton, is further indication of Flybe’s commitment to Scotland.

Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are pleased to announce this additional route out of Aberdeen.  Today's announcement is a clear indication of our appetite to maintain momentum with our plans for growth across Scotland.

"We are committed to increasing connectivity, both for business and leisure passengers and are doing so by using a rigorous profitability analysis and utilising our strict route assessment model.

“The decision to add this flight reaffirms our commitment to listening to the needs of our customers and to being ‘the fastest way from A to Flybe.”

Aberdeen Airport MD, Carol Benzie, added: “Flybe’s new route is a welcome addition and it will
benefit the business community greatly to have this extra option for travel to East Midlands Airport. Being able to provide choice for our customers is a great position to be in. We look forward to working with Flybe on this new service.”

Flybe will now operate a total of seven routes from Aberdeen as part of its 2014-15 winter schedule offering a choice of up to 248 flights a week.
