Flybe, Europe’s leading regional airline, has appointed Phil Delaney as its new Director of Sales and Distribution to head up its Corporate Sales’ team.
Phil will assume responsibility for Flybe’s business customers and trade partners. The role is focused on driving ticket sales and delivering continued growth in this important sector of the market.
He brings with him a wealth of experience and joins Flybe from Trainline.com where he held a number of senior sales roles over the past 10 years, most recently as Business Development Director, Retail Solutions. Holding an MBA and BA (Hons), his previous experience includes positions with Ordnance Survey, Cable and Wireless and he was a 1st XV professional rugby player with the Leicester Tigers.
Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer says: “With nearly half of Flybe’s passengers travelling for business and with a large travel trade component, our corporate sales division plays an absolutely crucial role. It is critical that we offer our clients the requisite support and products they need and that we not only continue to expand but also to nurture those existing relationships. I am delighted to have Phil on board and look forward to him leading his team to continuing success.”

This appointment is a replacement for Stephen Hobday who left Flybe at the end of last month after 14 years with the company. Paul Simmons said: “Stephen hands over his department in robust shape and I would like to thank him for his contribution to the company and wish him all the very best for the future.”
