The Airport offers a number of different car parking options on site to fit your needs. The short stay car park, located nearest to the terminal, is just minutes away from the airport’s main concourse. Prices start at £6 for the first 30 minutes, with charges upward of £11 thereafter. If you need to leave your car at the airport whilst away, then you'll want to make use of the long stay car park; this can be found just beyond short stay parking with the furthest bay 7 minutes form the terminal entrance. Additionally, free motorcycle and bicycle parking is located beneath the Dockland Light Railway viaduct, which can be found opposite the main terminal. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) service is an overground train system that connects East London to the London Underground network. The airport has its own DLR station connected to the terminal, with trains departing every 8 to 15 minutes. If you are travelling out of London, the closest National Rail stations include Waterloo, London Bridge and Stratford International. All of these can be reached via the Jubilee line from Canning Town, a 7 minute DLR journey from the airport. A free shuttle bus, number 573, operates in a one way loop from London City Airport via Albert Road, Woolwich Free Ferry and Woolwich Manor Way, then non-stop to the Price Regent DLR station, then returning to the airport. For night-time services, passengers are advised to use a taxi service.
London City Airport has teamed up with minicabit, the UK cab network, so you can easily arrange transport direct from your home, workplace or accommodation in over 40 UK cities. Bookings can be made online prior to travel.
Car Hire desks are located next to the terminal building; available services include Avis, Europcar and Hertz. Car hire services are open from 07.00 to 21.30 Monday-Friday with a limited service at the weekend. All services can be reserved online beforehand.

There are Short Stay and Long Stay car parks at London Heathrow. Short Stay car parking is located close to the terminal buildings and is ideal for short trips and for picking up or dropping off passengers. The Long Stay airport parking includes regular transfers to the terminals, making cheap car parking easy for passengers taking longer trips.

There are two train services from London Heathrow. Choose from the Heathrow Express which runs between the airport and London Paddington every 15 minutes. Journey time is 15 minutes. Or you can use Heathrow Connect, a stopping service from the airport to London Paddington, stopping at a number of stations in west London. Departures are every 30 minutes and journey time is up to 50 minutes.
The Piccadilly Line runs between Heathrow and the capital. Journey time by Tube is under an hour and services operate approximately every 10 minutes during off-peak hours, and more frequently during peak times.
London Heathrow has three London Underground stations – one for Terminals 2 and 3, and one each at Terminal 4 and Terminal 5. All stations are in Travelcard Zone 6.
Buses and coaches
Transport for London operates an extensive and low-cost local bus service between Heathrow and areas of west London, and National Express and other operators run coach services to and from Heathrow.
London's famous black taxis stop at the taxi ranks outside each Heathrow terminal. All taxis operating at London Heathrow have wheelchair access.

There are a number of car parks on site suiting different types of trips. The short stay car park resides opposite the terminal entrance with the first 5 minutes free and charges of up to £15 for 24 hours after that. If you're looking to leave your car at the airport whilst on holiday then you'll want to stay in one of the three long stay car parks located either side of the terminal, all of which are just a short 1-3 minute walk away from the entrance. Arriva operate frequent bus services to and from the airport including the 7, 8 and 9 services which stop directly outside the airport. First Group also provide coach services – the x30 operates between Southend and Stansted Airport, stopping at Southend Airport and Chelmsford along the way. Alternatively, a station runs directly underneath the passenger terminal, providing fast services to central London. For overnight services, passengers are advised to use coaches. Two major car rental companies operate out of the passenger terminal; Hertz and Europcar. Car hire services are open until midnight Monday-Sunday and can be reserved beforehand by e-mail or telephone.

Arriving by car is easy with plenty of pre-bookable parking available to travellers. All car parks are monitored by CCTV and patrolled regularly. Parking for long, mid and short stay visits are provided at affordable prices, with valet services available on request. Another cheap option is to park in the airport's Jetparks, which are situated a short distance away from the terminals and easily accessible by the frequent, free shuttlebus. There is a bus and coach station situated directly opposite the terminal entrance, where you can catch local buses. You can also purchase coach tickets for National Express services from the ticket desk at arrivals for coaches to parts of London and other UK destinations. The airport's train station is also easily accessible and is located directly below the terminal building. The Stansted Express runs London-bound trains every 15 minutes and travellers can also get on CrossCountry Trains heading towards the Midlands where you can catch further connections to the North.

There are short stay and long stay car parks at London Gatwick Airport. The long stay car park at the South Terminal is within walking distance of the airport, while a free shuttle bus will take you to the terminal building from the North Terminal long stay car park. Both the North and South Terminal short stay car parks are within walking distance of the terminal buildings. There are also pick-up and drop-off points at the airport. The London Underground service does not run to London Gatwick but the airport is served by a railway station, from which regular express trains depart to central London. Trains run every 15 minutes and the journey to London Victoria, from where the rest of the city is easily accessible by tube, takes around 30 minutes. It is also possible to get trains from the airport to other locations, such as St Pancras International, Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton and Reading. There are also buses available from both terminals. These local services run between London Gatwick and nearby towns such as Crawley, Horley, Redhill and Horsham.
Taxis are available from London Gatwick Airport and it is possible to pre-book. However, taxis in London are expensive and a typical journey into the centre of the city will cost around £95, plus an £8 congestion charge if your journey takes you within the charging zone.
It is possible to hire a car at the airport upon arrival. It is not necessary but you may wish to book in advance to secure your desired vehicle and the best possible deal. A number of car hire companies operate from the airport. Their offices are located on level 1 of the North Terminal.
