Flybe statement on Guernsey strike plans 18:00

18 July 2008

Flybe has been advised of potential strike action on Monday 21st July at Guernsey Airport by the fire service members of Unite.

Members of Unite have expressed the intention to take strike action on Monday.

Flybe is disappointed that it has been notified of such a major dispute at such a late stage and does not believe Islanders should be held to ransom over lifeline air routes.

Flybe calls for all involved to resolve this matter and keep Guernsey flying.

Flights in and out of the airport are a life line for Channel Island travellers going about their normal day to day business and they should not be held to ransom by internal disputes.

Flybe would like to encourage Union representatives, Unite Management and Guernsey Airport Officials to resolve this matter without causing any travel disruption to the people of Guernsey.

Flybe will update the website as soon as we have any further information.
