Flybe awards annual trophy to local learners
27 June 2008
Flybe, Europe’s largest and most successful regional airline, today awarded its annual Flybe Trophy to excited learners at St Luke’s Science & Sports Centre in Exeter during their European Business Day.The trophy, initiated three years ago, is presented to the house that has achieved the highest marks for projects undertaken as part of the College’s European studies’ courses. The awarding of the trophy was particularly pertinent this year as St Luke’s is now officially recognised as an institution that works closely with local businesses, all of whom have now been given Investors in Work Related & Enterprise Learning status.
The day itself was run with assistance from Flybe staff including Steve Parrott, Director of Health, Safety and Environment, who each year gives a presentation on the airline, together with the Met Office and the Hotel Barcelona.
“Three years ago, Flybe agreed to support the European Business Day at St Luke’s Science and Sports College in Exeter with a trophy awarded on behalf of the airline and presented to the team who achieves the most in the College’s European promotional competition,” explained Parrott.
“We aim to support the community we serve by championing success across many aspects of everyday life and we are delighted that, this year, this has also coincided with Flybe also being recognised as an Investor in Work Related and Enterprise Learning. We look forward to continuing our involvement with St Luke’s and the many other schools we support in the years to come.”
