Flybe hosts first ever Media Cup

Flybe, Europe’s leading regional airline, hosted its first-ever Flybe Media Football Cup at Southampton Football Club this weekend that was won by a team from Southampton Football Club supporters. The Media Cup has been initiated with the aim of engaging local media with interesting ideas to encourage coverage of key Flybe routes.
The Saints’ team pitted themselves against two teams from main Club sponsor Flybe, the Southern Daily Echo, and the Edinburgh Evening Times in a 7-a-side tournament to highlight and promote Flybe’s popular route from Southampton to Edinburgh.
The tournament provided the opportunity for representatives from the two cities’ local newspapers to go head-to-head in a North-South divide press battle in which the Southern Daily Echo came out on top.
Flybe operates six daily flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays; five daily flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; three daily flights on Saturdays and four daily flights on Sundays from Southampton to Edinburgh with fares from just £24.99 one way including taxes and charges.
