Düsseldorf is a true commuter city, and as such it boasts an excellent variety of transport links. Düsseldorf Airport has not one but two train stations, with over 350 trains stopping every day. The main airport train station is connected to the terminal building by a cable railway, known as SkyTrain, making it fast and fun to enter and exit the airport. As well as the train, you can make your onward journey by bus – several services leave from the airport, but use Route Number 721 if you’re going to downtown Düsseldorf.
If you want door-to-door service on your holiday, take a taxi from outside the arrivals terminal. You can get to downtown Düsseldorf for around €20.
If you’re planning to scope out the surrounding areas or even other cities in Germany, consider hiring a car from one of the many rental companies that operate from Düsseldorf Airport. Head to central arrivals to see which one can offer you the best deal.
