FLY INTO WINTER WITH NEW ROUTES FROM FLYBE

07 NOVEMBER 2014

Leading regional airline’s 2014-15 winter schedule features 22 new routes, a choice of up to 2,787 flights a week

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, starts its 2014/15 Winter schedule this  Sunday, 26th October featuring a choice of up to 2,787  flights a week to and from a comprehensive selection of routes, 22 of which are new for this winter.

Highlights include the airline’s entry into London City Airport with seven new multi frequency routes to and from Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Belfast City, Dublin, Exeter, Edinburgh and Inverness; and its innovative Flybe Shuttle ‘hop on-hop off’ service between Jersey and Aberdeen that stops at Southampton and Leeds Bradford airports.

Also included amongst other new routes for winter are:

  • Aberdeen to  Leeds Bradford
  • Birmingham to Oslo, Berlin Tegel (and also the first winter for popular summer  routes to Cologne, Lyon, Toulouse, Florence and Porto)
  • Dublin to Inverness
  • Manchester to Amsterdam
  • and the return of the daily Exeter to Newcastle service.

The start of the winter schedule also sees the airline welcome Avios on board with a new travel rewards programme, and Spend & Fly, a simpler way to earn flights with Flybe’s credit card.  There is also a new secure onsite parking option offered at most of the UK airports from which it operates when making an online booking-  and it will always be the closest available possible to the terminal.

It’s also the third winter season for Flybe’s successful Manchester hub from where passengers are increasingly taking advantage of by-passing congested London airports to make more convenient, seamless onward connections. This can be either onward with other Flybe regional services or farther afield to an extensive selection of long haul destinations through its various codeshare partners, when booked through a travel agent. The most recent of these is with Finnair to Helsinki and onwards to its many destinations that includes 15 in Asia.

Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, comments: “The diversity of our winter network this year is greatly expanded with the new routes we have added and we’re particularly excited to start Flybe Shuttle and seven routes into the heart of ‘actual’ London.  Our new codeshare with Finnair also furthers our ambition to become the UK regions’ airline of choice as a viable and convenient ‘One Stop to the World’. There is a wealth of additional opportunities for onward travel from our other codeshare partners as well and also with our franchise partners, Loganair and Stobart Air.

“Regional connectivity is Flybe’s mission. We are always looking at ways to provide improved benefits when customers choose to fly with us. Providing an extensive choice of routes for customers whose travel plans are time-critical is what Flybe is all about. We look forward to welcoming all our new passengers on board this winter so they can experience for themselves ‘the fastest way from A to Flybe!”
