2014 has marked a busy year for Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline. As well as commencing a number of new routes to France from the UK and increasing frequency on many others, the airline unveiled its new Purple brand refresh.
During summer 2014, the airline introduced a number of new routes to regional France including Bordeaux and Toulouse from Birmingham Airport, both of these routes have been extended through to Flybe’s 2014-15 winter schedule.
Throughout the 2014-15 winter season, Flybe will operate 17 French routes from five UK airports offering a choice of over 300 flights a week. Amongst these are its ski flights serving the popular resorts of Toulouse, Chambery and Grenoble (the latter two extended through to 12th April to accommodate Easter travel). In addition, many travelers use Flybe’s flight to Geneva from the UK, Isle of Man and Jersey as a gateway to the popular French ski slopes.
As part of the new routes launching for winter on 26th October, the new Flybe Shuttle service will commence. Flybe Shuttle is a multi-stop ‘hop-on and off’ south-north service, passing through Southampton with a choice of up to three flights a day in both directions connecting Jersey to Aberdeen, with passenger pick up and drop offs in Southampton.
The Flybe Shuttle is expected to be especially convenient for those travelling on Flybe’s eight routes to Southampton from Paris and regional France and wanting to travel onwards to Jersey, Leeds Bradford or Aberdeen.
In more news, the airline has also undergone a brand refresh this year. In March, the airline unveiled its new purple ‘look and feel’ that includes elegant purple cabin crew uniforms, distinctive purple livery and subtle ‘mood’ lighting on its Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
Product enhancements as part of the new purple ‘look and feel’ includes a world-first 60:60 Guarantee for passengers; if a flight arrives more than 60 minutes late at its destination due to a delay within Flybe’s control, passengers qualify for a €60 voucher towards their next fli,ght as long as it is booked within 60 days. There’s a new on-board menu, ‘Refuel’ that features healthy refreshment options and a re-designed in-flight magazine, Flight Time, now published every month.
The new purple identity has touched every part of Flybe’s business in its move to become Europe’s best local airline, focusing on time-saving travel and punctuality: simply being ‘the fastest way from A to Flybe – faster than road or rail’.
