It will be a busy weekend for Flybe, Europe's largest independent regional airline, as all four of its brand new ski routes to Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon head for the snow from Cardiff Airport. The many ski resorts close to Geneva and Chambery are proving a popular draw-card and, over the upcoming festive season, the weekend of the 27th is especially busy as people fly off to the snow to see in the New Year. Seats are still available for last minute, value for money bookings with one way fares from £29.99 including taxes and charges.
The airline, together with Cardiff Airport, has been actively promoting the routes with a particularly high profile since November as main sponsors of the city's popular Winter Wonderland open air ice rink attraction.,
Flybe's Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Simmons comments: "We look forward to welcoming the first passengers on board our four new ski routes this weekend. Whether flying out to hit the slopes or simply enjoy a quieter winter getaway, we hope they will enjoy the convenience of being able to travel direct to some of the most popular ski slopes in Europe from their local airport, not to mention saving valuable time, money and the hassle of having to drive farther afield at the beginning and end of their holiday."
