The response has been ‘red hot’ to Flybe’s announcement that its scheduled flight to Amsterdam from Inverness on August 30th will be fully crewed by some of the airline’s redheads. With many passengers on board travelling to the annual Dutch Redhead Days’ festival in Breda, the airline is hoping to create a new world record by carrying the largest number of redheads on one flight including some high profile guests. The flight has attracted significant media interest from both sides of the North Sea as well as from the many flame-haired passengers who have already booked, all of whom will receive a voucher for a free return Flybe flight at a later date.
Simon Lilley, Flybe’s Director of Marketing, says that the flight has received an extremely enthusiastic response both from Flybe’s crew and from the many people who have already booked to take this flight.
“This is a fun initiative and we hope that everyone enjoys being a part of what we hope will create a little bit of aviation history – not to mention having the opportunity to receive two flights for the price of one!”
Holland’s Redhead Days will be held over the August 30th weekend, culminating in World Red Hair Day on September 1st. Bart Rouwenhorst, one of the festival organisers, is expecting in excess of 5,000 redheads from around the world to attend the three-day event.
“We are very proud that so many people from Scotland are coming to Holland with Flybe for this big celebration. The town of Breda is eagerly awaiting all the redheads coming our way and we are preparing a great welcome for them.”
