Flybe's red carpet flight for redhead record

15 May 2014

Leading regional airline to operate world’s first ever redhead flight to celebrate annual Redhead Days Festival in August – and offers passengers two flights for the price of one

With 13% of its population being naturally red-haired, Scotland boasts the highest country percentage in the world and each year many hundreds travel to the annual Redhead Days festival in Breda near Amsterdam to join thousands of others from around the world for a fun-filled weekend celebrating their crowning glories!  In marking this year’s gathering, Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, is designating flight BE1285 from Inverness to Amsterdam on Friday August 30th as an official redhead flight. The airline is hoping to create a new world record by carrying the largest ever number of redheads on one flight – this will include a 100% red-haired Flybe crew and an invited selection of the UKs most high profile redhead!

All redheads booking on this special flight and travelling on the day will be given a voucher at the airport for a free return flight on any of the routes operated by Flybe from Inverness.

Holland’s three-day Redhead Days Festival being held over the August 30th weekend culminates in World Red Hair Day on September 1st and organisers of the unique celebration expect in excess of 5,000 global redheads to attend.

Flybe offers daily flights from Inverness to Amsterdam, departing weekdays at 1215 and arriving in Amsterdam at 1515: Saturday flights depart 1055 arriving 1345, and Sunday services departing Inverness 1340 and arriving 1630. One way fares are from £56.99 including taxes and charges and available for booking at www.flybe.com where details of the full schedule can also be found.
