Loganair and Flybe coordinate Amsterdam service via Inverness

Airlines correspond schedules to bring new connections to Amsterdam from Orkney and Shetland via Inverness

Flybe and franchise partner, Loganair have co-ordinated their respective schedules to create new connections from I to Amsterdam via Inverness, while also providing onward connecting flights to destinations across the world from the Dutch hub.

Beginning on October 29, as part of the airline’s winter schedule, flights during the week will connect for both south and northbound passengers. The timetabling enhancements will give travellers in  Orkney and Shetland more options for commuting to the mainland, as well as opening up increased potential for linking with European business partners.

Flybe will operate the week-day services between Inverness and Amsterdam using their Embraer 175 jet. The connecting schedule is:

Passengers will have a 2 hour 40 minute connection in Inverness before boarding the Flybe jet to Amsterdam, with a 1 hour 5 minute connection on the return before flying back to the islands with Loganair.

Phil Preston, chief operating officer at Loganair, said: “Our Amsterdam connection will be extremely popular amongst both business and leisure travellers from the Northern Isles, particularly when considering how attractive the Dutch city is as a destination.

“Schiphol airport offers an extended network of transfers across the world, which Loganair and Flybe customers will be able to take advantage of. Furthermore, Amsterdam has plenty to offer tourists as the city is steeped in culture.

“This coordination is yet another benefit for customers of the Loganair and Flybe franchise relationship.”

“Furthermore, the linkage will allow Orkney’s business community to develop networks and pursue avenues for trade which connectivity to Amsterdam will open up.”

The Flybe Unaccompanied Minor Scheme is not available to children under 15 years of age on flights operated by Air France. These must be booked directly with Air France.

The Flybe Unaccompanied Minor Scheme is not available through Knock - Ireland West (NOC).
