Leading regional airline’s sizzling summer schedule to offer over 200 flights a week from popular Channel Island base
Flybe, the UK’s number one domestic airline, has today announced it has applied for licenses to operate three new non-stop summer services from Guernsey to Belfast City, Edinburgh and Newcastle. The routes have already proved popular with passengers using Flybe’s connecting services through a number of UK airports for the past year. The addition of convenient direct services to these three destinations would bring the total choice of summer flights available to and from the Island to over 200 a week.
The Belfast service would operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays; the Edinburgh service on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with the Newcastle route operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer says: “Flybe is 100% committed to continuing to develop its services to and from the Channel Islands and in particular to serving the needs of its Guernsey passengers by providing a comprehensive selection of affordable and convenient routes.
All Flybe’s previously announced Summer 2010 routes, together with those of its franchise partner, Loganair, are now available for booking through to October 30th, 2010; the complete 2010 summer schedule now being on sale at flybe.com for travel effective 28th March with prices starting from £22.99 one-way including taxes and charges.
Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, comments: “Guernsey continues to be one of our most important destinations both for Islanders needing to access the mainland and for those seeking to visit the island for business or leisure. It is hoped that our plans to operate three brand new direct routes will be looked upon favourably not only in the light of their ability to create and attract tangible economic benefits to the Island but also for the added convenience of the passengers who have supported the routes during their one-stop lifetime.”
Flybe’s Summer 2010 schedule is offering nine summer routes to and from Guernsey
Included in which is 70 flights a week on its key London Gatwick service.
