Flybe's Grand slam on six nations rugby routes

Flybe, Europe’s largest and most successful regional airline, is reporting high demand on the thousands of flights it will be operating to five of the six cities hosting the upcoming Six Nations rugby series being played between February 7th and March 21st.

Whilst supporters eagerly await the imminent announcement of their team squads, Flybe has experienced exceptional early demand for the approximately half a million seats on sale for flights to Edinburgh, London Gatwick, Dublin, Cardiff and Paris during the event.

Welsh supporters lead the league table by already having pushed load factors over the line to record levels on Flybe’s Cardiff – Edinburgh service for Wales’ first game against Scotland at Murrayfield on the opening weekend. All Flybe routes operating to both London Gatwick and Dublin over the February 7th weekend are also selling like hot cakes!

Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer says: “As Europe’s largest and most successful regional airline, Flybe is used to raising the bar to make sure we accommodate the extra capacity needed on routes serving destinations hosting big sporting events such as the Six Nations. There is always exceptional demand from supporters looking for the most convenient and affordable way to reach the various destinations where their respective teams are playing.”

“Flybe is already monitoring closely all weekend flights over the duration of the Six Nations and increasing capacity to allow fans to travel to the big games. We can assure supporters that they won’t be left behind but would encourage those still planning to travel to games to book soon so they don’t miss out on the best affordable fares remaining.”

Flybe will be operating 36 regional routes to and from Edinburgh, London Gatwick, Dublin, Cardiff and Paris Charles de Gaulle over the Six Nations’ event with fares from £29.99 one way including taxes and charges, all available for booking now on www.flybe.com.

As an added bonus, all passengers booking flights online during January can take advantage of Flybe’s Book with Confidence Guarantee that offers free redundancy cancellation cover.
