UK’s number one domestic airline reports phenomenal demand for tickets
Flybe, the UK’s leading domestic airline, has reported an overwhelming public response to its January sale launched this morning, with internet traffic to its website, flybe.com, up by a staggering 162% in its first hour on sale.
The Just Pay Taxes and Charges sale on selected flights has clearly caught the public mood with increased sales reported right across the Flybe network.
Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “The response to Flybe’s biggest ever 4-day sale has exceeded our wildest expectations. Our website has coped with an absolute deluge of hits and bookings in the first few hours of the promotion. Clearly the British public is still very keen to book that weekend break or visit friends and relatives and banish the post-Christmas blues.”
Mr Rutter continued: “Flybe wants to do all it can to keep the British economy moving. Along with Flybe’s innovative FREE redundancy cancellation insurance cover on all flights booked in January, there really is no excuse for not grabbing a New Year flight bargain.”
