Transport links and parking

There are a number of options available to you for your journey to and from the airport.

Newcastle Airport parking

If you are flying from Newcastle and would like to take your own car to the airport, there is short and long stay parking available. There is no need to pre-book but you may save money if you do reserve a space in advance.

Newcastle Airport by public transport

Newcastle Airport does not have its own train station but it is well connected to the rail network via the Metro system. There is a direct link from the airport to Newcastle Central Station via the Metro. The journey takes around half an hour. From Newcastle Central Station, you can travel across the UK.

Newcastle Airport taxis

The taxi service at Newcastle Airport is provided by Airport Taxis, the only taxi company allowed to park directly outside the terminal building. If you require a taxi, you can book a car prior to travel or just get one at the airport. The journey into the city centre will take around 15 minutes.

Newcastle Airport car hire

If you're travelling to Newcastle to explore the region, you may wish to hire a car. There is no need to pre-book, although if you do, you may get a better deal. A number of car hire companies have offices in the terminal building.

Newcastle Airport information for the business traveller

If you are travelling to or from Newcastle Airport for business, there are facilities to help you work on the go.

Internet access

Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the terminal and is very easy to use. All you need to do is open your browser and follow the payment instructions. There are also PC stations in the departure lounge if you don't have a laptop or smartphone with you.

Other business facilities

Newcastle Airport also has an executive lounge - the Cheviot Lounge - which you can use if you are a business customer or travelling for pleasure. If you would like to use the Cheviot Lounge, you can make arrangements on arrival or pre-book, which may result in a cheaper price.

When not travelling with an adult of at least 16 years of age, some children can be carried under the Unaccompanied Minor Scheme* on flybe operated flights.

The Flybe Unaccompanied Minor Scheme is not available to children under 15 years of age on flights operated by Air France. These must be booked directly with Air France.

The Flybe Unaccompanied Minor Scheme is not available through Knock - Ireland West (NOC).
