Jersey Holiday Guide

Jersey holidays are ideal for groups of friends looking for an activity packed vacation, families seeking great beaches and attractions suitable for children, couples searching for a romantic break and those who simply want something a little different.

Jersey holidays in the summer

Many people choose to travel to Jersey in the summer for the fantastic beaches the island has to offer. One of the most popular beaches is Green Island, a south facing beach. This sheltered sun-trap is perfect for youngsters. Beauport is one of our favourites, although access is fairly tricky due to the long walk from the car park to the beach. Don't let this dissuade you from visiting Beauport, however, as here you will find golden sands and waters great for swimming, making it one of Jersey's finest beaches.

Other great beaches to check out when you visit Jersey include St Brelade's Bay, St Ouen's Beach, Havre des Pas, Plemont and Archirondel, while there are plenty more besides, each with their own unique charms.

Things to do on a Jersey holiday

One of Jersey's must-see attractions is the home of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. In this wildlife park, you can see some of the world's most endangered species, such as the silverback gorilla, and learn about the efforts to try and save them from extinction. The park covers a large area and is a fantastic place to visit during your holiday in Jersey, especially if you're travelling with children.

The Jersey War Tunnels exhibit explains the island's occupation during the Second World War and is a hugely popular attraction on the island. Jersey holidays can be packed with culture and there are many other sights of historic importance to visit, such as Elizabeth Castle and Mont Orgueil Castle. There are also many fascinating museums on the island, including the Jersey Museum and Art Gallery, and the Maritime Museum & Occupation Tapestry.

Saint Helier has great shopping facilities, with designer labels and high street fashion on offer, as well as trendy boutiques and cafes, which are perfect for a quick coffee or cappuccino. Jersey holidays are great for foodies too, with plenty of French inspired restaurants and seafood establishments to try. The island also has plenty of bars and clubs to discover so holidays in Jersey are simply packed full of things to see and do.
