Known as the "Queen of the Hebrides" and famed for its whiskey production, Islay is a popular destination for travellers who want to enjoy the tranquillity of the Western Isles. Location: Also known as Glenegedale Airport, the terminal is situated in the centre of the island, around 8km from the town of Port Ellen.

Although a very small airport, there are numerous options for contining your journey once you've reached the airport. With various tourists attractions in the area, including several distilleries, there's plenty to do once you arrive.
Parking is provided outside the terminal free of charge, and there is also a pick-up/drop-off area. Drivers requiring parking for more than three days should use the long-stay car park. Further details are available from the terminal's information desk.
A public bus runs to all towns on the island from the airport. Contact local operator B Mundell (01496 840 274) for more details or, alternatively, ask at the information desk.
A number of local operators serve the airport, including Bruichladdich, Carol MacDonald, Fiona's, Lamont's and Rhinns. Contact details can be found on the airport's website - pre-booking is advised.
The airport is served by two hire companies, Islay Care Hire and D&N MacKenzie, both of which have service desks within the arrivals hall. Pre-booking is advised but not essential.
Owing to the airport's small size, there are no dedicated conferencing facilities. However, the onsite Fly Cuppa serves hot drinks and light snacks, making it perfect for a working lunch. Business passengers requiring meeting facilities are advised to contact local hotels to check on availability.
