Travel advice for our cheap flights to and from Inverness

There are a number of options available if you plan to travel to or from Inverness Airport.

Inverness Airport parking

If you are flying from Inverness and wish to take your own car, there is short-stay and long-stay parking available. There is no need to pre-book but it may be advisable so you know just how much you will have to pay. If you wish to either pick up or drop off a passenger, follow the directions for the short stay car park. It is also possible to park for up to 20 minutes free of charge.

Inverness Airport by public transport

The airport is not directly served by train and anyone wishing to continue their journey by rail will have to take a taxi or bus to Inverness railway station. The journey takes about 15 minutes by taxi and slightly longer by bus. Anyone wishing to travel by bus should take the service from the airport and get off at Academy Street by the Eastgate Centre.

Inverness Airport taxis

If you wish to take a taxi from the airport, there is a dedicated taxi rank outside the terminal building. There are usually plenty of taxis available but it is possible to book in advance with Highland Taxis if desired.

Inverness Airport car hire

If you are flying to Inverness to explore the wonders of the Scottish Highlands, you may wish to hire a car in order to enjoy total freedom during your stay. There are two car hire companies that serve the airport. There is no need to book in advance, unless you are arriving before 8am or after 6pm, in which case the offices will be closed and you should make arrangements prior to travel.

Internet access

There is Wi-Fi internet access available throughout the terminal and pay-as-you-go stations if you do not have a wireless enabled device with you.

Other business facilities

The airport also has the executive Highland Lounge with telephone and fax facilities, as well as a number of business desks. If you would like to use the Highland Lounge, you can either book before you travel or make arrangements when you arrive at the airport.

When not travelling with an adult of at least 16 years of age, some children can be carried under the Unaccompanied Minor Scheme* on flybe operated flights.

The Flybe Unaccompanied Minor Scheme is not available to children under 15 years of age on flights operated by Air France. These must be booked directly with Air France.

The Flybe Unaccompanied Minor Scheme is not available through Knock - Ireland West (NOC).
