East Midlands Airport is well served by local transport so there are a number of options for your journey to and from the airport.
If you are flying from East Midlands and would like to take your car, there are parking facilities available. There is a short stay and a long stay car park. There is no need to book in advance, although if you do, you will save money. There are also pick-up and drop-off points that are free of charge through the 'Shuttle Plus' scheme, which is signposted upon arrival. From here, you will be able to get a free transfer to the terminal. You can also use the short stay car park for picking up and dropping off purposes. It is priced at '2 for 30 minutes.
The airport does not have its own railway station but it is easily accessible from East Midlands Parkway, Derby and Nottingham train stations. Nottingham and Derby are connected to the airport by the Skylink bus service which operates every 30 minutes, every day of the week. The best way to travel between East Midlands Parkway and the airport is by taxi. These are provided by Arrow Cars and can be arranged in advance of travel at a cost of '5.75. It is also possible to get a bus from the airport to the various towns in the surrounding area.
Arrow Cars provide the taxi service at the airport and taxis can be booked in advance if required. There is an office located opposite Arrivals and all major credit cards are accepted.
It is possible to hire a car at the airport upon arrival. It is not necessary but you may wish to book in advance to secure your desired vehicle and the best possible deal.
