Transport links and parking

There are a number of options for your journey to and from the airport as Cardiff Airport has excellent transport links.

Parking at Cardiff Airport

If you are travelling from Cardiff and would like to take your own car, there are a number of options available to you. There is a short stay car park within walking distance of the terminal building. This car park also operates as a priority pick-up point at a cost of '1 for 20 minutes. There are also two long stay car parks and both are served by a free shuttle bus which takes passengers to and from the airport. It is not necessary to pre-book parking but it is advisable as you will save money. Details on how to do this can be found on the airport's website - the address is at the bottom of this page. There is also a pick-up and drop-off area in Long Stay car park 1 that is free to use. This is a short walk or a free shuttle bus ride away from the terminal.

Cardiff Airport by public transport

There is a rail service at the airport which operates between Cardiff Central and Bridgend. The railway station is a short distance from the airport and passengers can use the free shuttle bus to travel between the station and the terminal building. If you are planning to continue your journey by rail, you will probably need to travel to Cardiff Central station after arriving at the airport. There is also a bus service which operates from outside the terminal building.

Cardiff Airport taxis

You may wish to take a taxi upon arrival at the airport. There are always plenty available. Checker Cars provides the airport with taxis and there is no need to pre-book. A typical taxi into the centre of Cardiff will cost around '26.

Cardiff Airport car hire

If you are travelling to Cardiff and would like to hire a car, either for business or to explore Wales in total freedom, a number of car hire companies have offices at the airport.

There are also internet kiosks if you do not have a wireless enabled device with you. These kiosks also offer printing facilities.

Other business facilities

The airport also has an Executive Lounge that passengers travelling for business or pleasure can use.
