Pet travel scheme information

Flybe may only carry recognised assistance dogs on routes that have been formally approved by DEFRA. We are currently unable to carry domestic pets on international flights.

Assistance dogs must hold a Pet Passport and meet all the requirements necessary under the pet travel scheme. There are additional requirements for assistance dogs entering the UK. Please consult the DEFRA website for further information. http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine/

You should notify Flybe if you wish to carry an assistance dog in the cabin on an international flight. You should provide this notification a minimum of 48 hours prior to departure. Flybe will endeavour to allow recognised assistance dogs to travel within the notification period however this can't always be guaranteed.

Please ensure you understand and conform to the requirements for entering the UK and other European countries with a recognised assistance dog. All costs incurred by a dog failing the pet travel scheme checks will be the owner’s responsibility.

You should provide documentation showing that the dog is a recognised assistance dog; this should be obtainable from the organisation that trained the dog. You will be required to provide copies of documents (where applicable) via email or fax so that these may be forwarded to the airports in advance.

You must carry a safety harness to satisfy airline safety procedures and this should be used when the seat belt sign is on.

You must advise Flybe of any changes to your reservation and must inform Flybe that an assistance dog is also travelling.

Southampton to/from:
